Teacher of the Year
Program
The New York State Society of the Cincinnati will award its Teacher of the Year Award, one of the Society’s highest educational honors, to an exceptional educator in the New York State Public School system. The award of $2,500 will be conferred annually upon one educator selected through a competitive, merit-based process from a statewide pool of nominations. The recipient will be recognized for:
innovative or exemplary teaching—within curricular or extracurricular settings—that advances student understanding of our Nation’s struggle for Independence, the officers and soldiers who fought in that conflict, and the men, women, and children who supported them.
Applications will be accepted through April 15, 2026.
The recipient will be announced by June 15, 2026.
The award will be formally presented on August 22, 2026, during a commemorative ceremony at the Old Stone House in Brooklyn, New York, honoring the historic events associated with the Battle of Brooklyn on its 250th anniversary.
